Dad Academy
Come on The Fatherhood Journey With Us
Welcome to DadAcademy, a community committed to speak to today’s fathers, provide fathering skills, and promote a healthy masculine mindset. With easy access and engaging content, DadAcademy answers the questions fathers face, helping men learn how to shape a child’s character and win at fathering.
Many fathers have questions they were afraid to ask. Many men are afraid of fathering or feel unqualified to be a dad. Others seek to escape so they won’t end up “just like dad.” Without adequate help, many fathers will spend a lifetime with the uncomfortable awareness of unmet expectations.
Here’s a brotherhood of men who are walking the path with you, a journey we’re all on that will lead to becoming the dad God created each of us to be.

HEAR REAL MEN’S STORIES
Otto grew up watching his dad slowly die from cancer. Adrift without a father, Otto turned to God for comfort and found surrogate fathers through his coaches. Otto’s football talent took him to the famed University of Nevada Wolfpack where he still ranks as a top NCAA and UNV Wolfpack history-making running back. Otto’s love for God began to surpass his love for sports as he learned how to be a son to God. After short stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and other NFL teams, Otto followed his heart home where he served for decades as a pastor, Gang Specialist, Outreach Coordinator, Crisis Pregnancy Center Director, Chaplain for law enforcement, and leader in community services.
To help young men, Otto developed the Role Model Summit and Learn to Affirm Youth Celebration, which earned many accolades including the NAACP Inspired Community Services Award. Otto became a sought-after speaker, presenting in hundreds of community events, keynotes nationwide, TED Talks, and churches from East Africa to Seattle, all while developing Dad-E Academy (Sons to Men) and writing Sons to Men a Brother Thing. Today Otto serves on an international level as the Christian Men’s Network Global Fatherhood Initiative Vice President. He and Joy, his wife of over 35 years, make their home in Houston, Texas.
